Triton men’s basketball has a lot of new faces this year, but the dominating play is the same as it has been the last few years in River Grove.

Triton won 88-50 Friday, Jan. 22 over visiting Bay College (Escanaba, MI) to start the season on the right foot.

Kejuan Clements (15 points, 4-of-5 from 3, 7 rebounds, 4 assists) led Triton along with Ray Grant (14 pts., 9 rebounds), Teonta McKeithen (13 pts.), Morgan Taylor (10 pts., 7 assists, 4 rebounds) and Diang Gatluak (9 pts., 4 rebounds).

Triton started the game on a 15-0 run and never looked back.

The Trojans became even more dominant the second time around. They put a stamp on their win Saturday, topping Bay College 98-55 to improve to 2-0 this season.

Triton was led by Clements (18 points, 5 assists) again. The Trojans also received double-digit scoring from McKeithen (15 pts., 3 assists), Tre Wainwright (15 pts.), Grant (14 pts., 7 steals), DJ Patrick (13 pts., 6 assists, 5 rebounds) and DeAngelo Elisee (10 pts., 6 rebounds) in the win.

In the win Saturday, Triton forced 28 turnovers.

The women’s team at Triton improved to 1-1 on the young year with a 77-53 win over Bay to kickstart Saturday’s doubleheader with the men’s team. The Trojans dropped the season opener 64-50 to Lincoln Trail College.
