the beauty products to know about this week

Our lives are finally starting to resemble those of the harried Londoners we once were and – frankly – aren’t we taking it all in our stride?

From slurping coffee at our local café to chomping pizza at our nearest Italian, we’re finally back to pounding the pavements and it’s never felt better.

But as life ushers us back into its fold (at a one metre distance, of course), it’s imperative that we retain the adopted practices of self-care that we’ve spent the last four months indulging in.

It came as no surprise this week that a study found that 83 per cent of people have been reaching for skincare instead of beauty over the last few months, and even less shocking that 77 per cent of people have purchased new beauty products during lockdown.

After all, we’re immune to many things, but a new beauty buy certainly isn’t one of them. Anything that will help us cling onto a glitterball-worthy glow is a must-have in our eyes; these are the products we’re loving this week.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser in Golden

Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser in Golden, £92, buy now

Three words: Victoria Beckham Beauty. If you’re unfamiliar with it, get to know it. Its eyeshadows are the creamiest I’ve ever tried, its kohl eyeliners are so smooth they’re almost butter-like in their consistency. Its skincare is the closest thing you’ll get to heaven on Earth.

Beckham and VBB’s CEO Sarah Creal (former head of product development at Estee Lauder and the woman behind a slew of household beauty names) partnered with stem cell scientist Augustinus Bader on its skincare offerings and, while they’re certainly not cheap, they are some of the best on the market. But it’s the latest offering which has piqued my interest; think golden, Baywatch-worthy kinda glow and that’s precisely what its new priming moisturiser offers.

I’ve been wearing it in lieu of foundation and, with a sweep of additional bronzer, have been seriously feelin’ myself as a result.

Sarah Chapman Eye Insurance SPF 30

Sarah Chapman Eye Insurance SPF 30, £48, buy now

Acclaimed facialist Sarah Chapman’s latest launch is a hybrid product that’s in a league of its own. Didn’t know just how in dire need you were of an eye tint? You are now.

Somehow the creamy product – which sits somewhere between an eye cream and a CC cream – manages to mask petulant under-eye bags while also brightening and evening the delicate skin which surrounds the eye. With the added bonus of SPF 30, if you suffer from bags, this is one for you.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, £15, buy now

A symptom of our newly-revived existences is that we’re inevitably wearing more make-up now as we resume our social lives. Enter then, Charlotte Tilbury’s newest oil-free launch, a setting spray which promises 16-hour wear. And boy does it last.

I hopped from one socially-distant garden soirée to another and my make-up didn’t budge (for reference, my skin usually struggles to hold onto make-up as its oiliness causes it to melt off during the day.) The miniature size is a handy handbag-size and is crying out for a test drive.

Nars Orgasm Oil Infused Lip Tint in Orgasm X

Nars Oil Infused Lip Tint in Orgasm X, £23, buy now

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be all about that 2000’s lacquered gloss hype which will park Nars’ latest offering right up your street. In the first re-launch of its iconic Orgasm blush since 2008, the beauty behemoth has released a collection of products with the Orgasm DNA: think peachy, shiny and looks great with a tan.

Simply pair with a slick of mascara, some OTT shades and a mini purse. Paris Hilton circa 2003, eat your heart out.

Erborian Bamboo Waterlock

Eroborian Bamboo Waterlock, £36, buy now

If your face is crying out for a little bit of TLC, then look no further than Korean skincare brand Erborean’s Bamboo Waterlock mask.

Ingredients include bamboo sap, which is rich in fortifying minerals, and amino acids that help to hydrate and replenish the skin. The lipids in bamboo fibres help to lock moisture within the skin for long-lasting hydration.

Simply slap on, leave for 20 minutes while you run a bath or grab a cuppa and wash off with warm water. Glowy skin with none of the hassle!
