Jodie Comer’s favourite beauty products

“I think my view on beauty has changed massively,” reveals Jodie Comer, the multifaceted actress redefining what it means to be a heroine on our screens. “Now beauty to me means comfort, feeling happy, content… feeling like myself.”

In this exclusive video for Bazaar, our former cover star and Women of the Year award-winner reflects upon her relationship with beauty. “I used to wear a lot of make-up whereas now I feel more comfortable wearing less make-up,” she continues. “I think it’s probably become a lot simpler.”

Comer, who shot to fame playing Villanelle in hit series Killing Eve, recalls some mistakes she made along the way. “I remember when contouring and highlighting came in pretty strong and I used to do a triangle of concealer, a big line of contour and draw these lines around my face. That was one [beauty mistake]; I’ve had many!” She says she also used to over-fill – and over-pluck – her eyebrows. Well, who didn’t?

Now the 28-year-old Liverpudlian swears by an edit of luxury cosmetics for her signature beauty look that’s pared-back but polished. “I tend to buy less products and have my holy grail that I stick with.” Frankly, we want the lot.

“After dissing contouring and highlighting a little bit, I’m now going to bring out my contour and highlight kit!” Comer says, showing Kevyn Aucoin’s The Contour Duo. “But this is very natural,” she adds.

When it comes to her brows, “the most important thing for me”, Comer won’t be parted with her Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax (a product that the legendary make-up artist Val Garland introduced her to). “If I’m doing bare minimum it’s always got to be an eyebrow gel. I can do anything once my eyebrows are lifted and stuck!”

She also shares her favourite cheek and lip tint (Living Libations Maiden Fern Blushing Balm), which she discovered on Goop; her favourite lip product (Westman Atelier Lip Suede) because “a good bold lip can elevate your look”; and the trick to get “the perfect cat eyeliner”.
