Women’s fashion store emerges from bankruptcy to reopen at Outlets at Wind Creek Bethlehem

A women’s fashion and accessory store, that initially filed for bankruptcy and closed all of its locations in 2019, has planned a comeback at the Outlets at Wind Creek Bethlehem.

The Wind Creek location was one of 261 Charming Charlie stores across 38 states that reportedly shuttered two years ago. It’s planning a grand reopening at its original space across from the General Store on the lower level. Wind Creek spokeswoman Julia Corwin said Wednesday there’s no specific opening date scheduled yet.

Founded in 2004 by entrepreneur Charles Chanaratsopon, the chain says its newly reopened stores will include Charming Charlie’s usual, color-grouping model and vast catalog, according to a news release. The store is known for its apparel, handbags, fashion jewelry, gifts, beauty items, shoes, scarves, tech gadgets, travel, pets and kid merchandise, as well as RSVP and special occasion pieces.

The company announced a national expansion this past March.

This Is the Least Trusted Department Store in the U.S., Data Shows

Before the world of online shopping opened our eyes to endless possibilities, department stores were the go-to place for those looking to get a wide variety of goods without having to visit multiple retailers. However, not every big-name shopping destination has a stellar reputation, according to a recent Axios Harris Poll, which Best Life used to determine the least trusted department store in the U.S.

The Axios Harris Poll 100, based on an annual survey of 42,935 Americans, ranks the biggest brands in the U.S. using a two-step process. First, the survey determined the public’s “top-of-mind awareness of companies that either excel or falter in society,” deeming them the 100 “most visible” companies. These brands were then rated by a second group of Americans using seven key dimensions of reputation—affinity, ethics, growth, products/service, citizenship, vision, and culture. The companies were scored on a 100-point scale where the lower

We never thought there would come a day when we’d use Fashion Week and the Container Store in the same sentence, but here we are. Really, there Jenny Walton was, sitting front row at Copenhagen Fashion Week wearing a sheer Dries Van Noten top and sporty Cecilie Bahnsen shorts with the Container Store’s small natural seagrass basket at her side. The fashion illustrator and jewelry designer got the woven catchall at the outlet on Manhattan’s Sixth Avenue a few years back, she told us, and not to organize kitchen goods. Yes, she uses it as a bag.

Even better than its double-duty function? Walton’s tote costs $10. It’s “one of the most practical shapes for all-purpose clutter control” the company suggests in the product description—apparently that can span from rolled-up guest towels to your phone and wallet. The piece folds down easily,
