Duran Duran pay homage to British fashion during Platinum Party performance

Duran Duran have supplied a vibrant functionality on phase at the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace live performance as they paid homage to British fashion.

As the new wave band executed their strike tune Ladies On Film, a catwalk of models paraded down a walkway in extravagant outfits.

The segment opened with a projection onto Buckingham Palace of the Queen, showcasing her type more than her 70-calendar year reign.

Inspiration from regular monarch style could be seen in the outfits, which include crowns and trains galore.

The outfits also bundled a nod in direction of the corseted structured dresses of days gone by, revamped with loud colours and floral prints.

Regal-design attire with volume in vivid colors of very hot pink and electrical yellow also highlighted.

The band was also joined by Nile Rodgers on guitar and rapper Ms Banks to carry out their classic tune Infamous.

The Duchess of Cambridge could be found swaying aspect-to-side as Duran Duran executed.

Speaking backstage, the band’s keyboard player Nick Rhodes told the PA news company it was a “great honour” to be invited to enjoy at the special Jubilee live performance.

He added: “We’ve all developed up with the Queen in our life considering that we have been born and so she appears like a character in Britain that we all know a very little little bit.

“And I do assume it is the most incredible achievement. Her devotion to the country has been like no other and for 70 many years, it is amazing. So to be a minor aspect of that is pretty particular.”

The catwalk show showcased outfits designed by alumni of the London College or university of Vogue who developed the bespoke garments for their styles, getting inspiration from the Queen’s model above the many years.

Duran Duran had been adopted by singer Alicia Keys who executed her music Superwoman, which the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were being noticed applauding to.

Keys then sang her song Female On Fireplace and a changeover of the Town Of Gods ahead of Empire Condition Of Head.
