Woman cited when her dog escapes and bites another woman’s pet: Beachwood police blotter
BEACHWOOD, Ohio — Animal nuisance: Buckhurst Drive
At 10:40 a.m. May 18, police were called to Buckhurst Drive where a woman’s dog escaped its yard and bit the dog of a woman walking her pet on the street. Police cited the 43-year-old woman who owns the escaped dog for an animal nuisance offense.
Fraud: Halburton Road
At 10:25 a.m. May 12, a woman, 66, reported that a male caller posing as a Spectrum employee was successful in gaining the woman’s credit card information and went on to steal from her $364. The woman’s bank refunded her the money.
Theft: Chagrin Boulevard
At 1:45 p.m. May 12, a clerk at Sally Beauty, 24205 Chagrin Blvd., reported that a man left the store after stealing two hair clippers worth total of $304. The man, who the clerk could not identify, was last seen running through the store’s parking lot.
Psychiatric situation: Chagrin Blvd.
At 2:45 p.m. May 13, police were called to Signature Healthcare, 24200 Chagrin Blvd., where a patient had reportedly been acting in a paranoid manner. Police took the man, 21, of Bedford Heights, to Ahuja Medical Center for evaluation.
Driving under suspension: Community Drive
At 2:10 a.m. May 17, an officer on patrol saw a woman who appeared to be in distress walking in slippers along the street. The woman was upset with a man who was parked in a nearby driveway.
Seeing police, the man drove from the scene, but was soon stopped and found to be driving with a suspended license. The man was cited for DUS and his car towed.
Fraud: East Silsby Road
At 9:35 a.m. May 17, a man, 82, reported fraudulent activity on his Chase Bank account. Someone, according to the man, withdrew from his account $19.57.
Warrant arrest: Painesville
At 8:55 a.m. May 17, Beachwood police picked up from Painesville police custody a Cleveland woman, 21. The woman was wanted on a Shaker Heights Municipal Court warrant for a Beachwood offense.
